I have either a 30 or a 35 offset, the fronts stick out about 2mm, the rears are perfect.

It's not the fact they're 18's, it's how wide they are. I'm assuming you're asking about 8 inch wide rims? Some 17's even 16's have 8 inch wide rims, someone other than 18's might be able to help.

i have 8.5" wide rims and the fronts stick out a weeeeeee lil bit and the rears are perfact. makes the car look beefy having wide rims.

im running 18*8s with 255 tyres and a 38 offset im pretty sure :D

mine are the same as BA ford offset (dunno what it is?) they're 8" wide the rears fit nicley the fronts come out a couple of mil - weird? havnt noticed any rubbing.. yet.

Just got mine so I still remember the offset (+35) - I think they may have been off an AU Falcon - not sure tho ?
Rims are 18x8"
Rears are great, fronts stick out past the guards slightly - tyre place suggested machining the rims down (rear of the rim - part next to the hub).

I believe the aftermarket ones are the same offset, but what model do you have? They dont stick out on my TJ(just), but the EXACT same rims stick out on a TE/F/H.
I'm sure i've heard the offset is 38 somewhere, i did a search on the ford forums but couldn't find any info.
Is there a way of telling offset by looking at the rims?

Yeah its an 01 TJ i have....they stick out a good half inch (bit more) i'll take a pic to night and post it...I'm not sure what the off set is either...i do know that most xr's ba/bf scrub the inside of the 18's on the front quite abit.

Mine sits JUST inside the guard, so sounds about right.
If the offset is stamped on the rim anywhere i'm happy to go check.
