G'day peoples :)

Just wondering if anyone has tried or owns any of the W.C.C Orion gear, as I was thinking of getting some splits and 6x9's to run off of my Clarion H/U.

From what I can gather from the specs, I should be able to run the speakers without needing a amp to drive them.

What do you think?

well i don't know about their speakers but i know the show is crap ;) lol They installed some mean systems and then to say stupid things like we got 4 batteries powering these 5 amplifiers with 4 capacitors for 1 sub, honestly made my logical sense, against all audio physics.

On the other hand i own 2 orion cobalt subs which go well for the money ( i paid $50 each from another amc member). I recommend running splits off an amp always because as i'v found its the only way i'll be at least a little bit happy (before you start spending big money to get anything decent).
post up the specs for us

i'm pretty sure the WCC stuff is they're entry level stuffed, aimed at 16 yo's who watch the show but cant actually drive yet

They might be alright, I remember in the extras on the season 1 dvd, the owner of WCC had about 4 of the subs in his 7 series bmw. If they were low quality subs would you put them in a 7 series.

I dunno

thats nothing impressive at all  even my orion Cobalt CO12 at 400watt rms with 95db 1w/1m dual voice coil running at 2ohms, and i paid pittance for those......
i recommend going JL it might cost a bit more but they are dam good!
These west coast crap seem just that.....i personally wouldn't even touch them but each to their own!

..GONE..

Thanks for the replies fella's :)

I'm just mainly after speakers for the front and rears, that I don't need to amp, as I can't be bothered installing another amp. I already have a amp to run my mtx 12" sub.

post up the specs for us The part that makes me laugh is when he says that one of the systems (that they did) puts out 6000 watts. lol Did they cut out the part where he spose to say, "thats 6000 watts peak baby!!!!"

Yes, so that people can say "would you put low qual subs in a 7 series bmw?"
it's all marketing, the whole WCC range is all marketing on cheap stuff so people will buy it. It's all aimed at JB goers (generally people who really dont know much) and so when a kid comes in with his VK commodore as his first car and wants to be pimped out when he's cruising along chappel, what better way than having WCC plastered across your system? not that''s COOL! :P

They make decent stuff (there home theatre range is alot more impressive) but bang for buck factor you can get better if you just do your research.

for your sub, the JBL GTO 1202D DVC subs go pretty hard, im pretty sure a few people from here will back me up on that one.

there umm 300WRMS (can take a bit more though) 12" and 2ohm+2ohm config, i have two of these wired in 2ohm to the amp.

for about $120-$130 a sub i think they will be far better quality then that west coast one

or, another favorite of mine is the pioneer TSW 306C or the TSW 306DVC which are both very nice subs.

I'm happy with my Mtx 12" sub... I'm just after something for front staging more then anything. :)

Before you all go paying out on Orion have any of you actually heard any of the gear working???

Lets get something straight:

1. Unlike Pioneer and JBL and all the other well known brands on the market, ORION qutoe RMS figures not Peak or PMPO - these measuremeants are actuall RMS tested results at 14.4 volt wich is what most vehicles will put out when running.
2. West Coast Customs is not actually ORION it is marketed by orion and made from the old entry level series extreme!!! So yes ORION is much better than WCC !!!!!!!

I would suggest that if you are serious about going with Orion gear that you do so and stay away from the WCC, as I said it is the entry level series.

For 6x9's go with the "c693" (wich have inline filters) and for your splits go with the "c6.2" which come with the cross overs ready to go.... these two alone will blow most of the others on the market away and if you do want to amp them later on they will run all day flat out.

They only used that once in a car, which was rediculously stupid.

If i remember correctly, when they did turn up the car with the jackhammer, it didn't get anywhere like 155dB....which makes me wonder.....are they idiots? not enough power? car wasn't prepped and/or tuned properly? or did he just not turn it up enough.

either way, Orion is a good brand, WCC i have had no experience with whatsoever....sounds dodge though lol
