I've got no idea how this has happened, but im pretty sure it wasn't like this when i bought it 12 months ago. Anyway, basically the paint on the bonnet has lost its glossy shine, every other panel is fine (to an extent) but it's the bonnet that in sunlight is very different to the rest of the car. At close inspection it seems ot be the same paint from the rest of the car so i assume is was put on at the same time? [Note: the roof, pillars and boot are all fine] So how would you think I could go about it? could i get it waxed? new clear coat sprays on? or will i have to respray the whole bonnet?

u'll need to reclear ur bonnet.
take off the bonnent then get some 800 wet and dry and sand it off( the clear that is). don't go any rougher than 800 grit or ull take off more than the clear coat. now after rubbing all the clear off (sanding in all directions) then take some grease and wax remover and a tak rag ( lint free cloth) and clean it down with that very thorughly . then paint it in a cool non brezzy place.or sand it down ( saves labour) and take it to a panel shop and get them to spray on the clear.

Give it a good polish, my car was the same until i got it detailed.

Give that a go before sanding and spraying anything.

Just out of interest where did you get it detailed and how much was it?

Ive been meaning to take my car to a pro for ages, the red looks so poor on it in some light conditions

Definitely get it polished or do it yourself, before you go to the extent of a repaint.
