Well going to be picking up a set of RDA Slotted rotors and seems to be a bit of a discussion on with what pads to run. In one corner we have those saying that the Bendix Ultimates are the best. Then yuo have those who race their cars on track days who say Bendix are to Harsh on the rotors and the FERODO DS 2500 are a much easier on your rotors with good bite. So i would like to hear from others with their experiences or stories of what friends have experienced.
Cheers Adam

I have RDA rotors front and rear, and use the cheap RDA pads. They are a little sqeeky on soft breaking, but they grab really really well. Low dust and did i mention cheap? :)

Theses green stuff pads get a lot of talk.. im gunna look into them.. Im doin a AWD upgrade soon.. after engine work..:P

Well pickied up the Rotors and they look damn good.
Pads have talked to a few more people and they are all saying that Bendix ultimates great for breaking performance shiite for rotors.
Seems that Ferodo 2500's are pad of choice....good cold hot bugger all fade and rotor friendly. Oh well there was Hawk race pads (blue ) but hmmm not that much in the bank balance.

I know this is a very old thread but im after some more info in regards to the brake pads mentioned.
I need to get some pads very soon.
So far been qouted
$120 a set for lucas'
$120 a set for Green stuff's
I can get Ultimates for $120 F+R
Now these will be going with DBA Slotteds F+R. I want as best bite as possible but with minimal dust and maximum rotor life...
I'm thinking might just use cheapys on the rear but for the fronts what would be the best?

go for green stuff, Ultimates are really dusty and lucas i hear are really good but have never tried them. Im actually going to rid of my ultimates to GCT's or when the greenstuffs make a pad for the 380 later this year.

Might go greenstuffs on the front and just GCT's on the rear then.
Seems like an OK combo?

I had EBC Greenstuffs on my Rada. Awesome performance but squealed and dusted like a mofo.
Swapped them out for QFM Premium Plus. Almost as good performance as Greenstuffs but no squeal or dust. Brakes Plus sells them.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback, what was the price for those pads?
Its so confusing, because really no matter what i choose, someone will always go "oh but this one is better"
So many bloody pads to choose from...
I like the sound of those pads though. no dust is what im after :D

Price i can't remember at the moment but just call up or walk into any Brakes Plus outlet and they will be able to quote you a price.
BTW, for those who don't know QFM stands for Queensland Friction Materials

Thats pretty good to hear then.
I got Bendix ultra premiums for the rear though as i was at work and though ehhhh why not...
Might get QFM's though for the rear judging by the good wrap they are getting!
Compared to $120 odd for EBC's and Lucas' i think these have won me over and i havent even put them on yet!

I'm doing my discs and pads this week so I might go the QFM pads for the front as well. Where abouts are these sold in Bris?
I had green stuff pads on my old barina sri, never seen so much dust produced in my life. Would never get them again for that reason alone

Run Bendix Ultimate on the front.
They produce alot of dust, and do squeek, but, there increase on performance over Bendix Advance is amazing.
I sometimes take the national park to Wollongong, and give the car a spirited drive. With Bendix Advance, i got some really bad brake fade. With all other gear the same (Rotors, and fluid), I got NO brake fade with the Ultimate pads.
+1 for Ultimates.
If you wanting to spend even more, then I would say Ferodo DS2500 at the way to go.

contrary to what most people are saying here, I had less dust using Bendix Ultimates than when I switched to Lucas TRW. I would say brake performance is comparable, but the TRWs I got were about 50% of the price of the Ultimates.
Ferodo DS2500s are $$$. I think I was quoted $400+ for fronts only (nb. I don't have standard front brakes!).
cheers,

I believe there has been a current increase in the price of Ferodo products, a few of the evo guys arnt very happy with the new pricing.
But seriously guys, you should never skimp on Brakes, or Tyres. Its interesting to see how so many people spend big money on performance gains, but never look to increase braking gains (not directed at anyone on these forums).
