Not sure if this is the right place to post (mods feel free to move it if it isnt) but its a headunit, so i figured "car audio"

anyway..

ive been thinking about getting a replacement head-unit ever since i saw the double DIN 6.5" screens in the latest model pajero exceeds/outlander vrx's etc..

so, on ebay, i stumbled across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ECLIPSE-AVN5500-BRAND-NEW-IN-BOX-06-GPS-NAV-DVD-CD-MP3_W0QQitemZ9743923460QQcategoryZ32825QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem

what i want to know is, if i went ahead and got one of these, will it actually work here? i mean, it should, thats what the satellite part is all about.. but id hate to get one shipped here to find out it doesnt work because australia doesnt exist on the thing...

or would it just be safer to fork out a few extra $$'s and buy one in aust??

comments/thoughts? also, what do people think of this particular unit? anyone seen or used one before? anyone have one themselves?

thanks guys..

you might just need to load the software for it. like a map of australia on a cd. thats how most factory fitted sat nav works. it gets the map of the cd then checks the co-ordinates with the satalite. so it might work. but ye all you would need is just the soft ware that the sat nav needs.

like atm i have a nav man and for that i have a sim card that has the map of australia and new zealand and without that my nav man wont work.

hope that hepled if i made sense
