heres an easy way. dont g-clamp cos u might wreck the alloy brake cly. just undo the brake line from the calipar and simlpy push it in with one finger easy as(watch out u'll get fluid every where) then just bleed the line.
pressto problem solved

use two large scewdrivers in a sissor type action to expand the pistons
make sure you have the old pads on for this as it will kill the edges

If you need to use a g clamp, make sure you have a pad over the piston to protect it and wind the clamp onto your old pad to push the piston back. There is actually a special tool you can buy for this as well. Its essentially just a piece of steel, shaped like a back plate, with a treaded bar through the middle. If its still having probs id just open up the bleeder...just make sure you bleed plenty of fluid torugh when you get it all back together.

Undo the brake line with a 10mm, get a rubber mallet and put the handle end into the piston. Then push hard or if your having trouble, maybe brace yourself against something like wall etc. The caliper should sit against the rotor so it won't fall out or if not hold the back of it with one hand. I found that once it gets past a certain point, the piston recedes quite easily. However as someone said above, be prepared for brake fluid to go everywhere though.

didja release the pressure in the master reservoir? I usually unclip the top.

Once when I didn't and was really cranking hard on my big G-clamp... clamp broke!

There wont be that much pressure as the cap only sits there..

Or Adam you could not be a tight asss and buy the tool for under $15 that pushs the piston back..:P

Think it must be the fact that i've been rather busy with work and moving house and not showing the girl some looooooooooooove. But got a steel-g cramp a tin of spinach and presto was only hard to move for first turn then freed up. Now have all rotors on just have to bleed them out tonight. Just average fluid then on weekend i will then flush and run new better perf rated fluid as there seems to be some sediment present, that is beginning to float around in the bowl..
