In a few months I am going to be coming into a small ammount of money, hoping about $6,000 or so...

Anyway, I was thinking it would be best I get a better car because really, the TP is just a joke... I was thinking I could spend about $4,000 on the car and $1,500-$2,000 on adding some things (Alloys + Rego + TV) I was thinking mabye a TS or a TR? I am not the best on modle numbers for the magnas, but I was after a V6 Auto.

What do you guys think I could get?

You can get a nice TS V6 for about $4k, should be in pretty good condition and they are pretty solid cars.

yeah, u'll get a decent v6 ts for about $4k, if u want the verada u'd be looking more of $6.5k and slightly above

NOTE: im going along the lines of a 1995-96 verada

EDIT: id prefer the verada... more luxo features in it

Yeah I'd suggest a TR\S V6.
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get a 4 cyl version! They drink more fuel, have less power and more more prone to head problems. I know from current experience:rant:

TS V6 Auto - $4000-5000. Very nice car. Nice to drive, feel more in touch with the road than my 3rd Gen.

What are you on about? more fuel? A friend owns a v6 TR and I own a 4cyl TR 2.6 and my petrol by far always lasts longer and I drive harder than him. Maybe the autos drink more but my manual is good, probably $50 p/w on BP Premium two and from city weekdays + driving round on weekends etc.

Get a Low K TS v6 if you want, I don't trust the auto's though.

Dude just keep ya eyes out!! have seen 3rd Gens go for about the 4,500 5,500k mark.
i wouldnt waste the money on a 2nd Gen when u could most likely get a 3rd gen.

saw a nice 98 TF advance 3.0L auto with 140k's on the clock for 6 g's ONO.

so yeh keep looking mate and you will find a 3rd gen no doubts. good luck

Then again you may come across a V6 2nd gen for the $2-3K mark. It's up to you how much you want to spend. See what's available in your area, and areas within reasonable distance from you, weigh up the pros and cons verse the cost, and see how you go. If you have no set timeframe, then don't rush it, make sure you know what you want and how much you are prepared to spend. Most troubles start when you just jump in without really having a clue, so browse the forum for info on what stuff to be wary of.

I think I've run out of cliches now :shifty:

Says he with a 3rd gen 4cyl:P :P

take some cars for test drives, etc etc as RogUe Said, but if you wanna mod the car, the 2nd gen for sure, there getting rarer and rarer as time passes, and look hot with a few k' thrown in (wheels lowering, stereo)

Good km's on that, and 3yr warranty, but $7K?? I'd say an absolute extreme max of $6K, more like $5K.
Have a look on ebay, though I'm never sure what final prices end up at as I haven't followed them through to the end. But they often have "buy now" prices, so you can get a rough idea of what's out there.

that will be $6000 or less by the time next year comes, or something similar anyway...

A sun roof would be handy... But I do like the look of the back on a 2nd gen... Lowered they would be sweet!

I will save up as much as I can, could be anywhere between 5,000 to 8,000.....

My modded KS XI was $6,500.... far off stock, which I now regret with a defect lol....

When I was looking at my car the caryard (gurneys car center on main north rd) had a TE/TF for the same price, 5spd on gas.... I wish I got that looking back on it cheaper to run and would go harder then my ks.... but eh it nah no options unlike the ks xi:badgrin:
