Hey Guys :D

Got my colour coding done last week!

The night of the last cruise (which was an awesome WA cruise) I put a small dent in my Baby. I'm house sitting and the Garage is a single car port made comfortable for a Festiva... Anyways, being silly and lovey dovey with the Girl Friend and was going to pull up with the noise in the car port and the door lining up with the foot path and wasn't paying too much attention and got a little close...

I originally thought it was just the bumper which I could fix up myself but the next day in the light I realised there was a small scratch and dent in the quater panel just behind the head light so I thought I'd get it fixed up.

While it was off road and at the panel beaters I figured why not get the colour coding done so I got quotes for both. I got all the colour coding of the grey skirts and door mouldings done for $400. I have been in the past and during my search for a panel beater for this task quoted anywhere between $700 - $1200 just for this colour coding so I was quite :) with this price.

Anyways, here are some pics, she hasn't been washed recently and for you guys who love to point out the lack of tyre shine, ther eis some on there just 5 days old... :) Just wanted to take some happy snaps to put up.

Next asthetic mod for me is to hunt down a KJ Verada Grill, might just buy a brand new one from Mitsu.

Looks very clean (with the colour coding) ;)

Nice ride

Is something wrong with the 3.5 badge? Seems to have alot of white residue around it. Could be from previous polish?

Looks real nice.

When I priced colour coding, I found a big variance in prices between panel shops. Pays to shop around. Also, if there is panel damage work to be done, then a lot of the paper work, and paint ordering/mixing etc. is already being done. So painting a few more parts is not such a hassle = hopefully a cheaper (but same quality) job.

Well done mate and good decision.

Looks nice and clean.....Id invest in some Parras if it was my car, but I do like whats been done, even with the silver trim around doors painted black.....

Bonnet looks a bit plain without the mitsu badge though....not my car, if you like it that way then so do i :)

Hehe, yes, the 3.5 badge  Just a lil residue from the previous polish, I knew someone would pick that out when I was uploading the picture :)

GRDPuck, panel beater for colour coding or smash repairs is always one of those things you have to shop around for, the price variances are ridiculous.

Yeah, Parras are on the way, been trying to source a pair 2nd hand but not with much luck though. I refuse to pay as much as Mitsubishi ask. I might just buy the grill new though...

As for the badge, some, well lets say TOTAL <Insert "F" word with "ing" on the end> <insert your favourite insult> decided my front badge would look better on their car not too long after I bought her. I ended up debadging the rest of the car except for the 3.5s on the side but I agree, I think it does look a lil plain and have been playing with the idea of putting the mitsu logo back on the front and the rear. Contimplating taking off the 3.5s though, think the quater panels look better nice n black

I'm just having a lil joke, people have been putting photos up without tyre shine and lately someone always has the pipe up and point out they don't have any on. I could just be like Niccoman who was soo excited about his new ride he took the photos before the tyre foam had finished doing its job and still had white foam over his tyres :)

Looks steathy Just needs some parabolics now.

Steathy is the look I'm going for, I like sleek black cars

So, yeah, KJ grill is definatly next on the list, wil continue on my quest to source a pair of parras will probably put the mitsu logos back on and remove the 3.5s. They are all asthetic mods. Not sure what I have planned performance wise. Trying to find someone willing to do a manual conversion but not much luck.

Colour coding has definatly made a huge improvement, I am very happy how it turned out, the thin door trim paint has matched perfectly, there is a bit of a difference in the grey skirt's paint and the panel when looking up close, I knew this would happen but I think this guy has done a better job that the 2 black TJ sports I have seen where Mitsu have painted them facory.

If any of the WA guys want this guys details for colour coding or other work, give me a buzz. As I said, the cheapest I have heard of anyone getting it done on AMC is $400 and thats what I paid. He is really good to deal with and his work is good. Sorry, not trying to push this guys business, I just know how hard it is to find good work at a good price.
