What do I need in order to configure my car to run better on higher octane petrol?

What tools? books? Which side of my brain will i be using?

dont even bother , what you do is loosen the bolt holding the distributor and slightly advance the timing which if i remember is clockwise only a few mm's and tighten it up but you can damage your engine and i wouldnt do it

Would that work on a TJ? I though that might be the case with earlier models but for the more recent ones, (TE-), it's controled by the ECU?
