Yeh any panel beater will do, but depending on what rims u have and what colour they are!!! if they are original chromies or just silver i wouldnt suggest to get em painted, but any black or white rims can be re-painted and look the goods.

Why wouldn't you recommend painting silver rims?

My mate had his silver rims painted and came out really dodgey.
went to take it back for another spray and he said thats the best it will come up.
came up really crappy but could of been the guy who did it,

im in WA. the reason i wana do this is becoz i wana get blak rims with chrome lip. i looked around n i found 18s to be priced over $2000 with tyres. i checked out tempe tyres n they hav 18s for cheaper prices, well under 2k. so if it wud cost round 250 its probabli cheaper for me to buy the rims from tempe n get them painted rather than buying it from the shops.
i had a rim painter, well had a little scrach fixed and painted looks as good as new. and is like 150 max per wheel and gest cheaper the more wheels you have, but im in sydney

Actually mate i think it would be cheaper to actually buy black rims with chrome Lip.

or u could buy the rims u want and paint the balck on ur self and just polish the lip up.
bit of time and elbow grease and u should get the same results as a panel beater.
im painting up sum rims at the moment. ok there not 20's but there alot better than my 14"x5.5 steelies
http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36970
but also u could do it with half the effort if u start off with new alloys. the set im doing are 1990 tp elite wheels , so there 16yrs old, so it wouldn't be that hard to polish and paint new ones and the paint i used was vht brake calipar paint. fade resistant, chip, cracking, heat and solvent resistant all for 13 bucks a can which is enough for one wheel.
so in the end thats $52 for paint about $20 for wet and dry sand paper $5 for grease and wax remover and $5 for masking tape. so $82 some effort and ur time and ull have the black rims and polished lip that u want. but that just what id do , oh and when someone coments on ur rims uve got the satisfaction of saying u did then urself.

We used to get our Aussie racer's wheels powder coated. the only problem was that you cannot get gloss. but they lasted for ages and hard to scratch or damage heapsof colours too. about $25 / wheel (13in).
