Are there any exhaust specialists here?
I fitted new Muffler (Lukey, and love it).
After I had fitted it I decided to check for leaks. There is no noticeable leak at the coupling where the new muffler goes on, but to my surprise one can block the tailpipe, using cloth over hand. Motor will still run. In years gone by I remember stalling engine of other cars by doing this. I then tried the same on a few cars, Pulsar, Commodore etc and all were the same, untraceable leaking sounds, but engine does not slow or stall when exhaust outlet is blocked off. Is it normal for modern cars to have exhaust systems with minor leaks??? Comments from anyone who knows please. Maybe some of you can try this.

it probably should stall, but its possibly finding small leaks to force out of, that are usually unnoticable.

i know when we were bored once we kept trying to see how far we could fire bottles etc out of the exhaust, and it didnt stall.

Maybe its due to EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) where an amount of exhaust gas is
re-routed into the intake plenum.
