Hi Guys,

Need some help with adding a stalk with the foglight switch to my car.
The foglights were already fitted when I bought it with a aftermarket switch.
I am adding the genuine stalk, and need to know what wires do what on the genuine stalk.
There is a green and brown wire extra on the genuine stalk, but there are 3 wires coming from the actiual foglights (2 black and 1 red)?
Anyone who has done this mod assist please.
thanks heapsssssssss

The black wire will be the ground for your lights, they can be mounted to the chasis (or any ground wire).
As for the other 2, i'm guessing one will be hooked into your parkers and one will be connected to the switch. Which one i couldn't tell you though :(.
*edit*
2 black and 1 red? Usually the other way around, i'd say red is for power, black is for ground adn the other black is for the switch, but i'd wait for someone with a proper wiring diagram to tell you which is which :).

Thanks heaps M4DDOG.
I'd say who ever put the foglights in has just used whatever wiring they had. So yeah I'd say they have used the red one for power, one black ground, and other for switch like you said......just not sure what is what on the actual stalk for wires, I might play around a bit unless someone who has done this, or has wiring diagram can assist.

(oh yeah the actual stalk has two extra wires over standard stalk being one green and one brown.......there is also a couple of blacks so one would have to be for ground I guess???)

Thanks heaps everyone as always

Are the wires still connected from what the previous owner did?
You should be able to trace them back or even test them with a multimeter to see if power was getting to any of the wires.

Still can't get it to work.

Anyone able to advise what the green wire and the brown wire do on the foglight stalk, and what to connect the ground wire to?
thx

howdy,
I've attached a few cct diagrams which show all the wiring on the TJ KJ light s/w.

If you have a s/w from another model I cant say if it'll be the same.

I'll run through them a bit more but the wire colours you give for the s/w aren't the same as the diagram.
The stock s/w switches earth (negative) thru the red with a blue trace wire to s/w the fog light relay which feeds pwr (positive) to the lights via a red wire and a red wire with a green trace. The diagram shows the lights use black wires for earth which are spliced then run to earth point 16 L/H inner gaurd bout 20 cm back from headlight.
