hi guys,

ive got a hold of a old tp magna and just looking to fix it up for a friend - now the problem is that the alternator doesnt appear to be charging the battery or even at times providing enough charge to run the car systems - i know there are brushes that can wear down but the (forgive the bad terminology) spinny thing attached to the alternator was making a funny noise so i fiddled with it by twisting it a little and it seemed to fix the problem for about 30 or so driving minutes... any idea whats going on?

also the car is constantly stalling - it had a broken pipe in between the throttlebody and the air filter/maf but i since replaced that and it aleviated the problem for a little bit but then the problem appeared again.

would love some ideas from you guys!

Try a reco alternator for from an auto elec.. Fix the broken pipe.. lots of stalling problems are from Vacuum lines..:P

check over all the vac lines and try a diff regulator in the alt, or just pull it out and see if its burnt out. also check the wiring on the MAF
