i have a 1990 magna that once it gets to 40k's wont decide to change up gears(auto) and seems to be going into neutral........ ive been told by my mechanic that im looking at up to 1800 bucks for repairs...just wondering if there's a fix to this problem cause i luv my magna!!!

i had a similar problem, it was a 'fail safe' which allowed you to 'get home' and 'drive to a mechanic', it was just the case of replacing some wires or something? :nuts:

go to a specific automatic transmission place, if you were in sa id give you the name of one, but its kinda useless info to you :P

cheers thanks for that info was driving home on the freeway and wao coudnt get past 40 wasnt too popular at all........sadly i live in melbourne thought of going to somewhere like fluidrive on my next day off and seeing if they can help...wonder if u remeber what parts they fixed

thanks for your reply.......maybe its time to let the magna go and try another one...seriousl;y till this incident happened tis hasbeen one of thebest cars ive ever driven at 100 on the freeway just cruises silentley along.........anyway ill sit down again with the good lady and work out our plans............maybe will be cheaper to buy another magna from 1990 to 1992.cheers
