Apparently 1,577 380s were sold during the month of June. If correct then this is the second best month and only 100 odd less then the best result achieved in November 2005.

WOW! That is a good result. That means MMAL should have made a profit for the 2nd month running!
Thanks FF :D I can always rely on you!
Let's just hope it's correct. Geez, for the first time ever they've actually surpassed their sales target! Perhaps MMAL's marketing team helped the 380 propell to this result.
Let's just say that if MMAL can sell 1,577 with no advertising, now that the financial year is over and a new advertising campaign shall shortly start the 380 should continue to rise in sales.

Its good news alright. There has been a bit of advertising at the moment though. There's an ad each week in the sat SMH, and the 'race in' ads on tv. I thought this was already the media relaunch that we were seeing now

They "DID". but if these sales trends continue we may actually see an increase in production *fingers crossed*.

Sounds very promising indeed, I love those race in ads, looks like a video game selection screen for need for speed or something.

Its a fairly good month for the 380, however the end of financial year is known as one of the busiest month, lets see how 380 fare this month.
its quite hard to believe that toyota selling that many corollas, ppl just seems to love them.

People are into small cars at the moment cause of the petrol prices.
I reckon people are starting to accept the fact that petrol isn't gonna come down...ever...so they are just living with it and going back to their favorite......large cars.

The actual number sold was 1,569. This is a good result as it allowed Mitsubishi to clear some of its stock of cars because they only manufactured 777 cars in June.
The bad news is that a lot of engineering people left Mitsubishi today on packages. Many of these people were middle management with many years of experience at Mitsubishi.

I agree, that is a good result, and would've got rid of a fair bit of built up stock considering the sold more then double compared to what was built.
Very sad to hear about engineering people leaving Mitsubishi especially when (as you said) some would've been with MMAL for a long time. Let's just hope MMAL's sales continue to rise and they end up re-hiring some back.

Total number of 380s sold to the end of June 2006 = 10,293.
The car has been on sale for 8.5 months. That is an average of 1,211 per month.

Those figures sound pretty impressive. The best figure i think is that more 380's were sold this financial year (only a part year mind you) than Magna's were sold in a full financial year last year.
I know its a new model, but its pretty good in todays climate minus a Wagon or AWD (both in the Magna) or the Wagon/Ute syles that the Commo and Falcon have.
Sadly though were i live the only 380's i see are Thrifty Rent-a-cars or the 380SX on a stand at my local shopping centre.

Good heavens that is pretty sad... I must say that I've seen a heap more base models than VRX's in the past few months.
Where exactly DO you live, in a cactus in the middle of nowhere? Though I must concede I live in Melbourne's north-west and almost everytime I see a 380 it's either a Europcar or Thrifty car, even the VRX's inevitably have that Europcar sticker.

Today I was in the city (West Terrace - waiting for a bus with my friend whose car [commoodore] had broken down!) and I seen around 5 380's in around 5 minutes. 1 LX, 3 VRX's, 1 Base and one 380ES (SII). I was suprised as I seen more then I expected, and that was just on the side of West Terrace I was on (the side Adelaide is on, not the parklands).
They are coming quite common on the roads now and I am sure that the more that are sold the more the public will become aware of the car and will actually start to buy it. Hopefully July's sales are a new record high and are somewhere around 1,700-1,800 (hopefully higher).
Good luck MMAL, hopefully demand increases so you can increase production! (you bloody deserve it!). Today I also seen a BankSA 380 which was white and had a huge BankSA logo on the door, it was a VRX as well. Very good looking; really stands out. Good to see that more and more companies are supporting Mitsubishi.

I'm on Brisbane southside at Carindale and see 1 every second day despite working at the airport and commuting via the Gateway which has a huge volume of traffic.
But by hopefully end of July, Carindale will have one more Platinum VRX series 2.

Ohhh, I wonder who that Platinum 380VRX S2 will belong too? I am hearing a potential purchaser? Good on you if you are!

I was at my local mitsu dealer last night and they too had a platinum S2 VRX with the new wheels and all. I must say it looks sleek as in that colour, specially the front:D :P
