shouldve seen if they had any old stock, i got the cd8445 (just about equal to the CD5000) for $500, plus $80 installation.
but anyways, the eclipse deck so far is good :) love it! but yeah, bit late to ask if its good or not :P
I have an Eclipse 5425 which retailed this year for about $399... picked that up for $270 about two months ago. They are great head units. They have really horrible after sales service though, and to contact them its pretty difficult. I used a burnt cd in my head unit and one week later apparently the cd ruined the things that hold the disc. After waiting for two weeks with no head unit over easter, Eclipse said that they couldnt warranty it and that I shouldnt use that type of disc in it... WHAT THE @#!%! Anyway, Alberts gave me another head unit which was ex-demo to replace what I bought. This is the story I got from Alberts anyway... maybe I should have rang Eclipse about it again. I doubt he would be trying to flog off an old head unit to me, because he knows he still has to give me three years warranty on it, or maybe he did... either way, I got three years warranty, and I pump the crap out of my stereo equipment daily when my car is running.

they're two different models. the CD5000 is the high end unit which has 8v pre out and more tuning options and prob a few other things i can't remember. it retails at $749 if my memory serves me. I'm guessing they prob use the same manual?
The CD4000 is a good unit, i have the CD5435, which is last years, but practically the same :P happy with it, but i still want somethign better, looking at the 5000 :P
