just a question....would it be easy to convert an auto to tiptronic or would it be just as hard as converting it to manual???? if its easier then how much would it cost??

Im pretty sure its been attempted before, they tried wiring up a normal auto to work like a tiptronic, they 'sort of' got it going but not really.

But no, it wouldnt be as hard as a manual conversion, seing as tiptronic is really just all electrical, theres no extra moving parts over standard auto AFAIK

when mitsu put my new auto in they told me that it would have cost more to do a tipronic conversion because they need to put a new tranny computer and a hole heap of other stuff as well in.

did they give you a quote at all on that!! Always love the feel of the tippy, but im tipping it would the same price as a manual conversion!!

oh right fair enough... well ill get a quote from somewhere that does it and post it for every1 to see

monkey khxi is almost there. he knows a lot about the electronics of a magna.

you will need a new ECU, BEM, keys and shifter assembly, also you will need to re wire the loom at the ECU to connect to the new shifter. Good luck : )
