Anyone who could possibly help me diagonise the problem im having with my tempermental car would be of great assistance!!!!

Its a TP '89 Excutive

The battery spontaniously went flat yesterday after having it checked -- the battery was determined in fine working order (as it should be its new)

however now it is slowly draining power from it again

the alternator and regular are new -- and tested so it cant be them
i dont have a boot light left on all the time -- cause the car dont have one!!(this seems to be everyones first guess)
ive turned the stero off so it can't be that

so basicially im stumped!
-- i don't know if its at all relavant but its using excessive amounts of coolant (im assuming im in for a new radiator here-but hey whats new)---
any way any help would be greatly appreciated

and if anyone knows any good mechanics and auto electricians in bundaberg that'd be great to know too as a last resort:)

what ya hafta do is put an amp gauge (multimeter set to current) in the circuit.

You dis-connect the positive battery terminal and put 1 lead of the meter on the positive terminal and the other on the positive lead.

With everything turned off it should read zero or close to it.

If it doesnt you pull out your fuses one at a time until it drops to zero.

The fuse you pull when it drops tells you the circuit that is causing you the problems.

If you're anywhere near nambour on tuesday gimme a PM and I'll meet with ya and do the test for ya. :D

mmm are u sure it's not the boot light cos ive got a tp executive as well and ive got a boot light but it dosent turn on all the time only about 80%. maybe its there but dosent work properly so uve never noticed u had one to start with, only saying cos its not a light u can see too easy, have to stick ur head up under neath to see it. so maybe its not turning on but its still drainning e elec system.

anyway just take it to an auto elec and get them to do a electrical drainage test to see where ur problem really is. takes all the guessing out of it. godd luck
