Test 1. Determin its not CV's go into a wide area ( carpark ) and turn the steering wheel full lock. now wind down the window turn of the radio and listen as you slowly accelerate in a circle. If you hear a constant clicking sound thats gets faster as you accelerate, itd be your CV's.

Test 2. Dont move but just steer left and right full lock in the spot. if it seems to click at the same spot as you turn it sounds like something is loose, maybe the 3 top plate bolts, on strut mounts.

is it aftermarket springs?

mine made the knockin sound on full lock when i had my springs installed but it was only the top plate not being on correctly. so you might wanna check that.

if not then ahve you hit anything hard recently? might have gotten something lose by a big hit.

I had the same as Ashneel on mine. Spin the plate around jack car up undo the three nuts holding the strut assembly let it drop a little and spin bearing plate. What I found was the coil sort of gets stuck when you go lock to lock and releases its self. Once i moved the bearing plate all was good again coil stopped getting stuck..
