Rated Towing Capacity of bar is 1600kg.

How does that fit in with the manufacturers specifications of a maximum towing capacity of 1,500kg for the Magna?

The rated towing capacity is for the bar only.... Not sure why there is a difference between the rated capacity of the towbar and the vehicle.

I guess they designed the bar for a little headroom in towing capacity.

umm i had a company come out and fit one, at my work place, for $240... so this isnt cheap .. unless its a very high quality towbar that would retail for like $500 i cant see a bargain here....

Thanks Gremlin.....

In comparison to some members here that have been quoted up to $600 for towbars, it is quite cheap...

The towbar is a high quality Aussie made towbar, rated to in excess of the Magna's towing capacity.

The offer of a towbar at cost is here for the people who like to have the satisfaction of DIY.

... for probably for a littlebit more than that, including wiring.. ..

Care to state an accurate price... A little bit more could be $100 dollars more, and I know which pocket I would like that money in.

Well then - other users on this forum that have stated prices upto $675 + fitting have either been misquoted or ripped off - for a hayman reece.

I thought my mate's prices were good wholesale prices, but maybe they aren't... And as for shipping a 15+kg towbar, I can get it shipped to just about anyware in Aus for $20.

Bit of the topic my pacemaker thread got raped an pillaged like this one. So many members missed out on cheap pacies because of remarks like those stated further up the thread. Give the guy a break. If you can get a towbar or anything else cheaper state where and provide current pricing. If the Original Poster can match or do better on price even better.
No one is twisiting your arm to buy. Its on the table and if people are willing to pay the price so be it.

My 2cents... Back to da topic

Australian Auto Fashions.... Cosgrove Road Enfield, NSW 2136 ..can get phone number if needed, dont have with me

I payed $240 fitted at my work place (including wiring) and chrome tow ball

Nothing against what the guy is doing.. just that he's stating towbars are worth $600+ and that his is a bargain.. thought it was a bit misleading

Gremlin,

I am not trying to mislead anyone... I have a genuine offer of being able to get towbars (any make/model) at a wholesale price through my best mate who happens to work at a muffler/car parts wholesaler... I believe that his prices are competitive... Also, be aware that I am not making any money out of doing this. I joined this club about 6 months ago when I purchased my TL magna, and it has been a valuable resource for modding my car. So I thought that I would contribute back to the club.

I made the offer to AMC members because I had read some threads here that stated people being quoted up to $675 + fitting. Obviously, now that you have come forward with the price you have paid.. It would seem that the price is just OK. Considering that it takes an untrained (myself) person about 1/2 - 1 hour to fit.

At the end of the day, most members will do their own ringing around for prices to compare... But my offer is still there.
