Hi - I've installed my new H/U today DEH-5550MP.

For some reason (i didnt connect the right wire?) the antena doesnt come up when the radio is turned on. How can I make this so?

Also possible to make it [h/u] be able to start even when the car is off? like the stock unit. I'm pretty sure I've connected those [battery] wires up.

Anyway - tell me where I've gone wrong if you have time.

for the stereo to be able to be turned off with the car off
instead of hooking the wire up to accesories, u hook that wire up to your 12v power along with your other power one

with the ariel, i got the red goin to the power and yellow goin to the plain blue wire on my head unit, and it comes on with the radio and goes off wen i put it on cd mode

ummm, yeah - if you used the same wires from the factory H/U the stereo shuold come on when you turn the key to accesseries - doesn't need to car to be on completely

And did you connect and arial wire?? can also be called remote wire - this will make the airal go up and down when the H/U is on / off

is the arial the black cable by itself? if so - i've connected that one

i'll try your other suggestions on thursday - as i have rowing all day tomorrow, and just came back from it now - too tired to rape the facia of the car today :D

the black cable itself is the input wire from the antenna. the remote wire to run the motor on the antenna should be blue i think, and fused.

i don't think the remote wire is fused - but the black wire with Jack you are talkin about is as above - the signal wire for the h/u to get "reception" so to speak.

yeah - the remote wire is probably a blue wire knowing Pioneer.
