I had the exact same problem. I adjusted the idle adjustment screw and seems to be fine since then...only adjust it a little bit cause if you do it too much, the computer compensates for it and all goes to ****.
Hope this helps you out.

if the car has only just developed this with the same idle settings it has always had, a vacuum leak could also but responsible for this, aminor vacuum leak would cause these problems, a major leak and you have lots of problems, could be blowing inlet manifold gasket?
just some ideas

K i reckon disconnect the battery and clean your throttle body out that fixed the exact same problem as me

Hey thanks heaps for the help guys, cleaned it out but now theres a different problem haha.
when i started it back up, it starts alright then has a really really shakey idle, e.g. from like 400-1000 rpm, it drops right down then fixes itself over and over again, anyone experienced this and can help me out pretty quickly as i need the car for work at 630, so yeah any help is appreciated, im trying resetting the ecu now so maybe that will work?

Trav.

Nah i converted it to manual about a month ago and its driven perfectly since then, although i think the plug on the air flow sensor was a bit loose just b4, also engine light was on, but ive put it back on as hard as i can and d/c the -ve battery terminal just gotta wait now

Also when i start the car up again after the ecu is reset, do i need to hold it at specific revs for any amount of time? or it doesnt matter?

well the if the air flow sensor plug was loose... that would result in a jumpy idle.... other than that....
engine light....might need to do a fault test.... dunno EXACTLY how to do it... but its in the MAGNA 3rd GEN FAQ page....
