What should I be looking to pay for new/used CV's for a KR? Parts only? Fitted?

Will any TR/TS/KR/KS CV's work, or do I need specific ones?

You'll have to get V6 specific shafts, as the 4 cylinder versions don't have as many splines. A replacement shaft cost me about $180, and it'll take a mechanic about an hour to fit, so you're looking at around the $240 mark.

Don't take that as an absolute figure though, some places will be cheaper and others dearer.

$165 replacement new driveshaft fitted with 3yr warranty is best I've found so far, but haven't looked too far.
Easiest and best way to go, and probably work out as cheap as if you tried doing it yourself.

Ive been informed its most likely the outer part.

Would 2 of these get me out of trouble?

Doesn't say how much shipping is... I think that seller used to have them form $89, so might want to double-check shipping...

Honestly, from my limited experience, CV's are a ***** to redo. But if they are that cheap, and you have plenty of free time and are willing to do lots of swearing, then it may be worth it. Getting two driveshafts replaced will cost you $3-400, this way is maybe $90 for the bits, the rest is up to you.

Quick tip if you are doing it yourself; There are removable plastic panels inside the wheel arches, where the drive shafts go through. When we first replaced a boot on mine, we didn't realise this, as it felt like a metal sheet, and thought it was attached. Much cursing and swearing trying to get the driveshaft out of the small hole.
Remove the panels, and you have a much more accessible area.

$8 shipping to me for one, $12 for 2.

I will most likely be getting mechanic mates to do it, or Newcastle magna club's Dodgy Bros. Been informed its most likely just the outer CV thats rooted, which suits me good - $90bux for parts and $40 for beer.....nice cheap fix, if it is a fix of course lol
