I was wondering if anyone can help. I bought a TL vrx system, up to the cat (cheers TMC), and the muffler is a single large tip (my standard TJ awd is a executive twin tip)

Do I need to replace all the way to the cat to get the benefit? I've read on here the sports/vrx muffler is the same mitsu part number, its from the muffler to the cat where the gains in free-er flow are made? Is this crap?
Also, is it expensive to get my rear bar modified? Where should I get it done? (Midas? Scary...)

Cheers!

Here's some pics of what I'm on about

TL VRX - the one I want to put on

edit: have done a search, that is why I am confused now :)

Muffer system is the same on the VRX and sports, the only difference is the tip.

Options:
A. Cut your rear bar for the new muffler with a jigsaw
B. Cut off the VRX tip and get an exhaust place to weld on a deflected tip aka sports style.

I've done some jigsawing of plastic lately, looked like it had been done by a pre-schooler  . Better leave it to the professionals. Can I get the muffler place to just bend the one on there down? If they put a new tip on, wont that effect the flow in the muffler? (or is the big tip just for looks?)

tip is generally just for looks - they should be able to fit an angled one like that on the sports no worries.

i would say tip is just for looks as both 2wd vrx's and sports both have same kw ratings... 163.... and they're the same up to tips.

cheers guys - will get it fitted on payday. Apparently the TL vrx muffler doesn't drone. Is it worth swapping the muffler to cat exhaust system. I've got that too, not sure if it is different from what I already have, or not.
