As the title suggests, a rock suddenly flew up on the M1 motorway today (and there weren't even any trucks nearby!) and hit the front driver's side guard and bounced onto the windscreen, promptly putting a 5-cent piece sized crack in it.

So apart from being rather dismayed, I thought, 'OK, if it just holds on, it doesn't seem too bad, I might get away without having to replace the windscreen.'
Within a minute, the crack actually moved across the windscreen a further 15cm, so now, the right corner of my windscreen about 10cm from the bottom now has a 15cm crack stretching inward.

Does anyone know where and how much I could get a good quality replacement 380 windscreen? And while I'm at it, do any 380 windscreens come with the blue tint strip at the top? I was surprised that the 380's don't have the blue tint at the top of the windscreen, which was standard from TR onward.

Bugger, eh

Just about every decent glass place should have the glass and most likely should have the exact replacement. Im pretty certain that Mitsu still use Australian Pilkinton glass :); id expect a bill around $240.

Call up O'Brians, they will come to your house/work and replace it on the spot, and when they did my magna they used exactly the same screen as the original, with blue stripe on the top, and yes i think it was pilkington.

I have a feeling that it all comes from thailand now (post free trade agreement). Pilkinton's had scaled back a while ago, they can't make it as cheap. I'd prefer to pay abit more, and have some jobs, but thats me.

Ah, the monocoque chassis design. Windscreen is a loaded member. get a crack and It'll open up like a zipper. When some prick through a brick at my windscreen, put a nasty crack right up the middle. Driving it to the cop station and then windscreen joint was a bit scary. Every corner I could here it creak and groan.
