Howdy
I am considering upgrading from my standard deck in my TJ Advance. With my last car I ran in to a problem when I upgraded in that there wasn't enough room to get the new deck all the way in before it hit an obstruction. I was wondering whether there is any size restriction in the TJ series?
Thanks.

nah, no restriction that I can see.

Your HU should be standard "DIN" sized anyway, which has a standard max depth.

For my Sony MEX-R1 I even recessed it further 14mm deeper into the hole - no probs.
This HU has got a cooling fan at the back too, there's enough room for airflow & wires.

Magna's have a MASSIVE amount of room back there, no way you'd have trouble fitting just about anything in there.

i'm pretty sure theres a member on here who has built his whole carputer in the dash where the standard headunit fits

Cool... in the VL I was hitting a panel at the back after about 7 inches or so. Glad I won't have that restriction in the Magna :)

VL's were always a PITA for fitting headunits into. Seen all sorts of solutions ~ some very scarey (like sawing part of the back of the HU off and soldering flyleads!!!)
