My rear speakers in my TE Magna seem to have s#*t themselves.

they work but they distort at very low volumes.

what could be wrong? I dont think its a short circuit because I havn't touched any wires!

any help would be appreciated!

Are they running through an amp?

Ive had this problem before with infinity 6x9s and it was because i had melted the voice coils. Both speakers were effected. One distorted at very low volumes. On the other one the cone didnt move at all because it had been melted on to the stem that holds the tweeter up.

This happened because i was playing it way to loud and the signal was clipping.

I dont know if this is your problem but it quite possibly is.

Are they stock speakers and what are you running them off?

they are just stock speakers running off the deck.

After market deck or stock headunit?
If aftermarket you've most likely blown them, while the stock speakers are ok, even a headunit can blow them as the HU will output more power than the stock speakers can handle.

nup, stock headunit.

speakers seemed to be working fine thismorning, but central locking didn't want to work properly.

could it be the battery? its battery just ran flat.
