hola!
my 93tr auto has recently lost alot of power....i basically have to keep the go pedal halfway down or even close to all the way to the floor to keep the car at a steady pace...
also ive noticed that 2nd gear is stupidly short. under normal accelerating 1st gear changes at around 3000 then once 2nd gear kicks in the revs drop to 2000 but then changes out of 2nd at around 2100....all other gears are fine
any ideas? it was serviced not all that long ago (prolly 2000ks, if that)

have you tried keeping O/D off around town? only put O/D on when your going on the freeway etc......makes your car a bullet:)
also a bottle of lucas transmission stop slip will help a bit, not ALOT, but makes a subtle difference

yeah od only goes on wen im going over 75km/h
would tps etc have anything to do with it? cause myn is heavily corroded, and has caused my car not to start before

Just clean it, If you have bad idle that would affect it - it may also be causing the power loss

Maybe your car could be running rich, using more fuel than it should. Maybe get a compression test and go from there?!
As for the auto.. could be the start of it on it's way out, maybe flush it and refill with new fluid. My KS verada is the same, 2nd gear is quick to change to 3rd. I just keep the A/T mode in power mode. That fixes it for me.

aha! yeah i turned power mode off the other day (well like 2 weeks ago) to see if it made a diffrence to fuel consumption cause i was gettin bout 350km to a tank!!!!!
i think i will have to get a compression test done. does any mechanic do these? or gotta take it to a specialist place or something?

you can do it yourself:)
just put the compression tester into the spark plug hole and crank it over a few times, then take down the reading for each cylinder
the tool can be purcashed from any super cheap/autobarn/repco
