As said in the topic, i'm having issues with my sound system. But before i describe anything i'll tell ya aobut my setup:
JBL Head Unit
Stock front speakers running off the HU
1x JVC Amp 2 channel, 250RMS per channel (call it AMP1)
1x JVC Amp 4 channel, 100RMS per channel (call it AMP2)
2x 6" speakers running off AMP2, 1 channel each
1x Pioneer sub 800MAX 400RMS running off AMP1, both channels bridged

Now, those figures may not be exact, but i don't think wattage has anything to do with this.

The problem:
I usually pump my speakers pretty hard, but i'm not stupid. I'll have it at a volume of 25. To compare, if i throw it up on 33-35 i'll start getting clipping.
After awhile, and this SEEMS totally random, the whole sound system will just shut down. That is to say, the amps will turn off and everything but my HU and the stocks plugged into it will be dead. Now i haven't had much of a chance to look into exactly what happens when the system 'randomly' dies because i've never been in a position to pull over. But one time i managed to open the boot when they were dead and noticed that the amps were TOTALLY dead. That is to say, no protection light, no nothing.
Funny thing is, they can come back on on 30 minutes, just out of the blue. Or they won't come back on for days.
So you think, its obviously got to do with the power from the battery to the amps. And that'd be a good assumption as both amps go off at the exact same time and the only things they have in common is the positive power running from the battery and then spliting into 2 wires in the boot. Problem is, i'm dead stumped as to why its doing it. I've got some phat assed 2 guage wire going from the battery, to a fuse (can't remember the rating of it, but its massive :P), and then to the boot. Now admittedly, the connections into the fuse tube and the splitter in the boot are pretty shody, as 2 guage is ****in huge and everything has holes for 4 guage. In other words, the connections are pretty crammed full of copper.

I guess i should really just rip it out, buy 4 guage and do it all properly, but every time the system has died and i've checked the connections and they've looked fine. So i thought i'd just put it to you guys and see if theres anything obvious i'm missing.

it maybe the earth wires. how big are they. if the earth is to small or dodgy it will just shut down like that..:)

Earth wires, or could even be the remote wire from the headunit shorting out on the chasis or even just loose.

exact same thing statred happing to me today, haverent cheked it out yet,as im to lazy and it was working when i got home but ill look at it befor i go to work.i have 0gauge power cable so i dont think it will be that its either lose earth (go over a bump dosent get good conection with chazzy another bump goes back on) or its the remote wire (probley where the main remote wire and link remote wire conect into amp 1)probley alittle lose.

Well mine doesn't seem to go in and out on 'bumps', i could be flying along the highway and it'll go out. I know the earth cable fro mthe battery to the chassis is solid. I'll have to have a look at the remote and boot earth connections this weekend. Thanks guys.

i found my problem,it was at the battery,i got a new battery and it was a little bigger then the old one and my fuse is like a box with a push button on it sort of like a safty switch in homes and my bonnet was resting on the cut off button so it was half cutting it out,all good now.
make shure your power + power isent lose at the battery, another thing to check
