It cost me $750 for mine in my TS V6. I called around, and that was the best quote I got.

Mine cost $800 from Mitsubishi. But about 2 weeks later it went straight to the floor and stayed there!
It's fine now. Except sometimes the *point where the clutch is when the car moves* is close to the floor and next time it's further out.
Understand? *I don't know the correct term
Does anyone elses car do this?

people people. before you do anything to your clutches check your fluid levels and make sure its not a problem with the slave cylinder. i thought my clutch was stuffed too. turned out to be the slave which only cost $60 to fix. they are supposedly a problem on our models and this will be a much better explanation for movement in the pedal rather than the clutch itself. and believe me. if you go to a mechanics and say my clutch is stuffed, they will be more than happy to fix it for 700 bucks, while replacing a 60 dollar part and saying "good as new!" just get it checked out first before you jump into anything. like i said, check the fluid level in your master cylinder and the rubber boot for cracks or fluid on the slave cylinder first. it could save you alot of time and money.

sounds like either your master or slave clutch cylinder isnt right, may need to be pulled apart and fixed, maybe something is loose or not sealing properly.

Of course the fluid levels were checked and maybe this slave cylinder thing is also a problem...but believe me, it needed a new clutch.

I joined killbilly and got a RPW Clutch - it's great!.
I also had the bearings done in the Gearbox.
Clutch, shipping, mechanic fees, & Gearbox - around $1400-$1500.
A bit of an ouch but at least it's fixed.

Please explain...
What, where, why?
Because i don't like my gearbox.

Sorry, asking the wrong guy that question. I like cars and mods but 'm not very mechanicaly minded.
My Gearbox had a loud whine/whir sound which changed as the accelarator was pressed/released. This had been there for awhile but was getting worse. Then the clutch went (lots of white smoke and no go no more) so I had the Gearbox looked at too. All I know is that he replaced bearings and the noise has gone.
Only problem I had was it had to go back to him 3 times because it kept leaking gear oil - this seems to have been fixed now.
Still crunches a bit from 1st to 2nd (especially when cold) but not too bad. Anyone had this type of thing when they have a new gearbox/clutch or is this a symptom of a paddle/button clutch?

My gears feel very loose (when the gear stick is in a gear you can move it around quite a bit) is everyones ts like this? Mine also crunches from 1st to 2nd when cold so i have to run through the gears before driving. Once when it was in 3rd i was just driving along and it went into neutral. Scared me.

Magnamad, get your gear linkage bushes checked for the loose gear stick and the cold crunchy gear change try thinner oil.
i have the cold crunching 1st to second, maybe our synchros are going? Im gonna give it an oil change soon, prolly never been done.
Ohwells, the issues we face having manuals. I dont think they advance manual gearbox research nemore, everyone wants a auto.
