Hey,

I have some ralliart cams, so....

How hard is it to change cams on a 3.5L KH?

What special tools do I need? Basically I've got spanners, wrenches/sockets and a hammer for when things dont quite fit. In the workshop manual it shows some specific tools needed, but whether they're actually needed or not is another thing?

Is there anything else I need?

I've looked at the workshop manual and my guess is its an 60-90min job for somebody who knows what they're doing.....so probably 240mins for me :) Or should I fork out alot more money for someone to do it for me? The only question is, i know if i do it, i'll do it right....

Ive take some out from a replaced engine. It will take a while especially as there isnt much room when its in a car. Once the cams are back in the tappets (if they fall out of that arms) are a pain to line back up. Also to get all the arms back in alignment while tightening them down its useful to have another person helping you. Its doable, find a friend to help you and set aside a bit of time.

You'll need a good torque wrench, and for the tappets, to hold them in just wrap some duct/electrical tape round the ends to stop them falling apart.
