well...i've been doing some thinking into getting a bit of interior lighting installed....i was just wondering everyones thoughts on which are better LEDs or Neons? for brightness, power usage and any other aspects you can think of....

led, brighter, last longer, more flexible. doesnt break as easily

Under the dash/seats I would go cold cathods (I get mine from www.pccasegear.com.au )

For just doing small details I would go the LED's

CCFL's if your a rich prick, at $40 a pop for a 30cm one they aint cheap

LED's for the win, MUCH MUCH brighter and last longer, also skinnier in size....

if i wasnt such a cheap *** i would of gotten all LED sticks for my boot install not neons.

sorry everyone but my opinion would go for neons, the glow, which is what u want, is heaps better, LEDS to glow good but tend to only glow good in the direction the LEDS are acctualy pointing where as neons glow the whole way round all good and the same.

Well im a LED man myself pros most definitly out way the cons, ive broken and destroyed to many Neons in my time to like them, so very fragile.

LEDs Pros -

Very small drawing Current (20mA @ 3.1 volt)
Can by Singles for special applications
Increadibly Bright (My Blue Ones are 8000 mcd, enought to blind you :cool: )
Instant Light (Unlike neons that have to "warm up")
Variable Brightness with Resistors
Almost Unbreakable (Hit it with a Hammer or over voltage to kill)
