Ok i admit to knowing jack-all about car audio. Ive been goin through the Jaycar site and found this

Tell me, 1: is it worth even buying a crossover for my system (look at the price of this: cheap?) and 2: is this one any good?
Cheers!

All it does is adjust the LPF of the RCA signal. Good if your amp doesn't have this feature. Pretty sure your amp already has LPF built into it?

Yeah it already has an LPF on the amp. So does that mean no point?

hehe, andy.....i mean if you wanted to be creative you could buy set of coax's and a seperate tweeter and a seperate crossover and wire it up that way....
but what your running now is fine, just concentrate on your speakers mofo:P

As has been said, your amp should have a LPF, negating the need for a separate cross-over. The most common use for cross-overs in cars is if you have a set of splits (tweeter and woofer separate, rather than two/three way co-axials). The cross-over sends the high freq's to the tweeter and the rest to the woofer in the door mount. In this case the cross-overs will come with the speakers.
I haven't clicked on the link..so i haven't read it.
If it filters RCA signal, you could use it for an 'active' setup?? No idea why you would though....stupid SQ people :P
