Ebay is your friend. Any Jap Spares in Brissy usually has a set of them on there, but don't seem to be any right at this moment. Always starts at $199, so depends on if you get lucky and no-one else bids.
Dunno about shipping though, I picked up. Also got the grille whilst I was at it, total cost about $250 :D
[EDIT] That's for a pair, 2nd-hand but basically new condition.

mmm, I work at a crash repairer, so at my local mitsubishi dealer**** I get trade price on parts.... I was quoted $370 at TRADE PRICE per headlight for my KS... that's brand new too...

Cost $165 EACH at the wreckers here, and thats USED. So $200-250 is a good deal if you can find them.

do paras really make a difference to night time visibility? or is that just an excuse people say to justify spending $300 ish on them??? lol

Yeah they do make a difference a big one too
standard light's: have a somewhat lighted area in fornt of the car with two concentrated light beams
Parabolic light's: have an even spead of brighter light
much brighter than standard light's
well worth it for night driving
EDIT: and look at our avators which lights look sexay???

I doubt you'll find any at wreckers, but there's a slim chance you'll get lucky.
As for light difference... there is a difference, but $200+ bucks worth? Dunno. A good clean inside the standard ones might give decent results. As TUFFTR says, most standard lights are pretty foggy nowadays, mainly through lack of interior cleaning. Add some super-white globes, and it'd be a major improvement.
I guess it's mainly for cosmetics, reasonably cheap for a fairly major cosmetic alteration to your car. Better illumination is a bonus, but by itself probably doesn't justify the cost. Maybe if you look at the cost as 50% for illumination, 50% for looks, then that's one way to justify the cost, if you need to justify it.
Then again, look at the ocst of headlights for other cars. Some are like $2K!
I was doing a fair amount of night driving on dark country roads when I got mine, so that's my justification. And they look so darn purty!:D
