Hi Everyone.
Got a TP magna - 2.6Lt EFI Auto.
Just replaced the alternator, hooked everything up then tried to start it.
When I turn the key to ACC everything fine.
But as soon as I turn it to ON, it all goes DEAD.
I have checked all the fuses and relays and fusible links, but all is ok.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appriciated.
have u tried the battery? i might have enough charge to still run lights etc, but not enough to crank the starter motor, cause it sucks lot more charge

Check the coil/dizzy etc I had a bunch of corrosion on my TR 2.6 and same thing would happen, cleaned the connector and away it went....

thanks for all the tips guys.
However I dont think I made myself clear enough.
When I say everything goes dead when I turn the key to on.
What I mean is EVERYTHING including all warning lamps, interiour lights, etc etc.
I dont even get to try to start the car.
So basically, turning the key from 'OFF' to 'ACC' all fine
But going from 'ACC' to 'ON' all goes dead.
I hope that clarifies things abit.

Not alternator or low battery issues then...
Possible ignition wiring? Maybe?

Sounds like poor connection to the battery.Check the terminals are tight and clean.Finger tight or pushed on really hard isn't good enough, also check the main power wire to the starter is tight and clean.Last thing check the power wire out of the alternater,it may seem ok on the outside but the wire rots under the plastic coating and normally can't be seen unless you strip back a little of the insulation.Good luck.
