Alright.
I have a 3L TF. When she is cold, and when you make a daring move out onto the highway, you put your foot down and she has nothing... not a thing. Bogs and carries on a treat. Now I thought that could be because she has 300K's on her. So let it go. This has been happening now for 2yrs.
BUT...
G/F's parents have a TE with 60,000 on the clock. Started doing the exact same thing over the last few months...
I have replaced fuel filters, checked fuel pressures, had the injectors professionally cleaned, timing, air intake... blah blah blah... Nothing. It keeps doing it. Any ideas???

Try disconnecting the oxygen sensor temporarily to see if its a closed loop problem. If its the same then fuel/spark issues, possibly TPS. My old TE did this and I never fixed it beofre selling.

TPS???
Done the plugs.
Pump: She only does it when cold. Once its has warmed right up and run around a little, its fine. Pump in two different models??? Possible... Will have a look

If its an auto...
might be the Auto Box, sounds like the TOP GEAR is screwed
I had the same problem happen to me the other day but in my 2nd gen, the cars heavy but it has a good take off speed, then all of a sudden pressed it and nothing, it lagged HARD.
I knew something was wrong, so I took it to the mechanics he said its one of the gears, the rest are fine, getting it tested through the computer on Monday to see if he can pinpoint it.
This might also be the same problem your having..

i dont know much bout magna fuel system but usually if u put ur foot to the floor u bog down coz fuel/air mixture is too rich, but dont worry, give her a second and all excees fuel will flow freely out the exhaust.

My car used to do this all the time.
When I bought it, it was fine.. and it just started playing up for no apparent reason. You would go to take off normally and the revs would just sit there doing bugger all. You could back off and have another go which may or may not get you there.. or you could floor the accelerator and hammer through the dead spot. It was a BIG dead spot ;)
I changed the fuel filter.. nothing. I changed the air filter.. nup. Cleaned and reset the TPS.. nup. Someone else told me it was the transmission.. took it to an auto place and the guy told me there was something wrong with the engine/computer and he wasn't even going to look at the transmission until the engine was running right. Took it to an EFI specialist.. they tested the computer and it came out fine. Fuel pressure fine... so they just did a carbon clean of the throttle body blah blah.. Nup. They couldn't figure it out. They said it was the transmission. Then it came good all by itself a month or so after.
A year later.. it started again - and continued for about a week. Then it came good all by itself. And to this day it's fine. :bowrofl:
It used to happen hot or cold. You would never really know if it was going to happen or not until you took off. Dangerous when you pull onto a 100 km/h road and the engine just dies on you.. had to quickly steer the car off the road and pull over a few times.
