Hi all;
I have two qustions for all the devoted second genners out here
1. What are the Verada models for second gens ie 95 ?? Verada?
2 Has anyone done a seating swap of a TS executive to a verada, by this i mean take the seats both from and back out of my TS and replace them with a verada set, and is there any problems that you have come accross?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Uncle Andy

1992-1994 are KR
1994-1996 are KS

Both have ei and xi models, ei being the base, and xi having more features. Im sure somebody will elaborate on the differences.

KS also have a touring version which has 81 manual models I believe. Otherwise theyre all autos.

The REAR seats are interchangeable, unsure of the fronts.

i have SE seats in my TS exec. fit the same. and all sedan rear seats are interchangeable as are wagons im guessing.

as for the differences....

KR EI: Power windows and mirrors. front seats have lumber support. clock in dash. and cruise. seats are dressier than SE's ones aswell

KR XI: nicer more plush seats. more velour on the interior. woodgrain everywhere. clock on dash. elec climate control. oh the seats are electric from memory. and i think the Xi has abs...correct me if im wrong tho.
body is the same between the 2, except Xi has clear indicators on rear lights and a nice rear garnish. bumpers are the same just the Xi has a 2 tone colour scheme, and i think the Xi got different alloys....not too sure.

KS verada im guessing pretty much the same as the 2 KR's but a bit more modern..nice set of Parabolics on the KS series and alloys on both. think the Xi had the option of leather....but that might have only been on the diamantes.

hope that helps.

the bottom of the rear seat doesnt lock in totally though (might worry you if u r 100% pedantic, cant really tell and the sides at the back also dont go all the width... doesnt bother me... i'll just run some black carpet down there someday... i dont really notice it now so cbf'd

2G Verada seats will fit a 2G Exec.

I have 2G Verada Wagon Leather seats in my 2G Exec. Wagon - No problems at all.

mine were in the car when i bought it so jase aka tzaboy might be able to help ya... but i'm pretty sure it's got constant power and runs off the usually interior ****e ie 12v supply... i would imagine it'd be easy to wire up if you knew what you were doing... i'd have to be shown myself.

when i was at pickapart, there was a KR Xi there. the front seats were electric and also under the centre console there was a computer box there....but my Ei doesnt have that....
maybe that box controls the seats? or the climate control? any ideas?

The box under the console is for the ABS.

The electric drivers seat simply needs power from the ignition so it will be adjustabel when ignition is on. You can also wire it in to be always on which is handy when cleaning etc.

The KR XI early range had ECS, electic suspension. This was done away with in late 92 and replaced with ABS.

As for seats, the body shell for Magna and Verada is all the same so all will interchange. The front third gen will bolt straight in, the rears I have never tried.

It is surprising just how much is the same from second to third gen

Shouldnt be too hard for the seat wire-up,only has two wires coming from the seat.

From memory, the box under the center console is the Airbag computer. The ABS computer
is in the boot near the rear antenna.
Also, the electric seats have constant voltage and can be used anytime.

It'll be constant power and ground. Acc are for accessories like radio etc.

my TS V6 has ABS but there is no box under the centre console....hmmmSame here. I thought perhaps that box was the ETACS thing? In which case (Caution: Hijack in progress:D ) does installing one give you easy ETACS options?

Anyhoo... So how much better are the Verada non-leather seats? Just wondering if it's worth my while, if seat covers are used.

They are pretty good. Trimmed in plush velour and have pretty good side bolsters on the
seat and seat back. Pretty much the same as 3rd gen vrx/sports/verada seats in design.
