Hi
I just brought some new 4" kicker speakers to go in my dash where the stock ones are. once i finally got them out the kicker ones dont fit coz the magnet is bigger the the old 14 watters. dose anyone know how i can get the dash off so i can cut some plastic out or can anyone offer me another sugestion to get them in the dash??

i dont think your gonna like most sugestions. i.e. take them back and get some 6" for the doors. apart from that, get yourself a dremmel and hack the shit out of it till they fit. removing the dash is way to huge a job just to fit some 4" speakers.

you need some door speakers with splits , splits go in the dash ,
see if you can get some verada trims as they have the speaker mounts in the door trims

I bought 4" pioneers and had the same problem. I'm going to do down the splits avenue aswell (not that I haven't been down this road before...)

dont need to pull out the whole dash. just use a dremel or a hacksaw blade and cut some of the plastic out

Theres 2 layers of plastic (off the top of my hand - don't quote me on this), the first you can cut through, the second is the air conditioning duct.
Just be very careful! :D

No need to dremel. remove the stock peaker grills off the plastic surrounds and mount the speakers onto the plastic.
Then fold the speaker grills back on.
This way it hides the speakers from prying eyes and still keeps your stock location. :D
P.S the best thing you can do is use better quality speaker wire in a Magna. Makes the world of difference. Also a cross over if you can afford it, or do like I did and just add a capacitor to the +ve line to the speaker to act as a high pass filter.

HI
just finished putting my speakers in. to get them in i took out the stock speakers, then i got a really sharp chizel (i doint know how to spell) and just sliced away the plastic. it was quite easy when its sharp. then i put em in and they fitted nice. it took about an hour to do. anyway they sound quite allright for 4" speakers. kickers arnt bad speakers at all.
thanx everyone for your help.
