hey i want to get my injectors clean to help with fuel but i cant afford to get done professionally. i was windering is there any after market additives that you guys would recommend. also does using shell optimax or ne of the good stuff clean the engines.

Buy a bottle of Nulon Injector Cleaner or something similar, and throw it in before you fill up. Run it with a tank of 98 or 100 RON fuel.

just suck it up and afford it no other additives will be anywhere near as effective as an off car ultrasonic clean

One method a mate of mine tried was to take the injectors out then rig up a stand, batt and switch, then briefly open the injector with the batt power and squirt some cleaner/thiners through it. Once this has been done he replaced the filter baskets and pintle caps. But be warned. Only open the injector for a second or 2 and cycle it much like it does when in the car. This avoids shorting/burning out the injector.

I never have tried it but my mate reckons it did the trick. But as stated nothing beats or comes close to having the injectors cleaned properly in a ultrasonic bath and then having them flow tested.
