Hey guys, yesterday i purchased a 5sp Manual 1995 TS Magna. It has boot spoiler, 15inch mags and sports exhaust. It has 228,000km on the clock which was rather good i thought. Engine is clean as and the gearbox is well looked after, as it was owned by an old man. Brought it for $1000, which is awesome, will post pictures soon when i get it home.

Still sounds like a bargain champ, specially if it's roadworthy and the gearbox is good. How does she run?

Great bargain - well done mate.
The 2nd Gen with Manual is a great package.
and at that price - WOW!!!

As for mods, I'd take it down to a mechanic first, and ask them to check the car out - this way you can make sure she's running well and reliable b4 any mods take all ya $$$.

When was the timing belt last replaced - depending on the amount of KMs (should be done every 100,000kms). This may be a wise (but expensive) maintenance item to consider.

Then look at the panel damage - can some of it be done paintless by one of those paintless dent repair places.

As for mods, I'd go for the standard ones first - mags, lowering, tint windows, K&N (Panel or Pod), 2.5" exhaust... and sound (headunit, speakers, etc.) if your into that.

This will all happen quickly if you have lots of $$$ or slowly (like most of us) if not. lol

But man! that's a cheap buy. :D

if u have any question just post in the secong generation section (tr\ts 1991-1996).
well seeing as uve got a second gen. im sure any question can be answered there pretty quickly for u. u did well there. i paid $1400 6 months ago for a 1990 tp (fist gen)un regod but the prices up here are higher than down south.

Yeah they only came in EFI, some of the earlier models of the TR (GLX i think) came in Carby (LOLZ @ D@ve hehe)
And the wheels would be 15" if its original :)
and 124Kw on premium lol only 121 (?) on Normal Petrol

Close but not close enough :D . Its 120kW/235Nm with normal unleaded with a 4kw/9Nm
increase running premium (96ron) which gives 124kW and 244Nm. I had my old ks ignition
advanced and ran on 98ron which was estimated to produce close to 140kW and 255Nm
(thats with all the other mods like exhaust, t/b, k&n rampod, fpr etc). Last dyno before
selling it had kWAW over 100kW. So with the above mods and running on 98ron, she can
really go. I've taken my old ks to 10 degrees beyond the 220km/hr mark in the outback :D
whereas before the mods (fully stock running on normal unleaded) it won't go beyond 190.

sorry but the 140kw at the fly is questionable but may be believable, 100kwatw for an auto i seriously doubt, i've had my sohc max out 4th (yes 5th to go) at 215km/h and i have around 90kwatw dynoed 2 times.

Exactly, my speedo was 10 degrees past the 220km/hr mark in 4th with the tacho around
the 5000rpm mark (didn't look at the dash too long). I eventually ran out of straight road.
Just as well, as when I slowed down to 120 to make a left bend, there was a kangaroo on
the side of the road. I did it again a year later with my wife in the car and took it to just
beyond 220km/hr before she got scared and asked me to stop :D .
Also, dynos are not absolute figures. only relative. Before the mods the dyno figure was
below 90. Before I did the exhaust (fitting of the 3rd gen headers and the lr2779) it was
dynoed at 96.

The following were my mods:
K&N oval pod with shielding and cold air ducting to the front bumpers (with holes cut into the bumper)
Platinum spark plugs x 6
RPW 65mm oversized throttle body and enlarged plenum chamber
FSE rising rate FPR with guage
Exhaust header up to the cat is from a 3rd gen magna sports
2.5" hi-flow cat and hi-flow resonator
2.5" lr2779 muffler
2.5" mandrel bent pipework
Kings spings 1.5" drop with munroe GT gas shockers
16x7 performance fx5
Custom driving lights with integrated switch
Fully lit up rear lights (7brake lights and 6 night lights)
6x9" pioneer 2way speakers at the back
5.5" sony 2way speakers at the front doors

And, R31_Sedan, the R31 etc NAs are no match to the 2nd gen v6s

You'll have to ask skotty. He owns it now. Still been repaired though. George of the Jungle
crashed it.
