Well I'm off to the auto electrician next week to have him go over the car; I'm having some intermittent problems with my brake lights and my indicator buzzes when I indicate right. I also have a cracked headlight that needs replacing. So I'm thinking of getting the headlights replaced with 1 piece parabolic headlights and some driving lights installed while I'm there.

Has anyone had this sort of thing done and can let me know what I should expect to pay? I don't think I've ever been to an auto electrician before, so I'm just trying to protect myself.

By the way, know of a good AE on the north side of Brisbane, kinda in the Strathpine/Brendale area would be good?

Thanks guys.

Well, brake lights you always replace bulbs first, ask questions later :)

Also check earths.

The buzzing indicator issue can be expensive depending on how it is repaired. Simple (and often permanent fix) is to bend the contacts of the switch, and throw some contact cleaner in (the buzzing is actually an arc that destroys the contacts, and puts carbon onto them, perpetuating the cycle). The other fix is to replace the switch (expensive).

Getting 1 piece headlamps fitted - well, you need to drop the bumper, and redo the wiring. Figure 2 hours.

You are getting quite a bit of work done, depending on the 'leccie (say min $75 for brakes, $75 for indicators, ~$75 headlamps, $100 driving lamps - this is a low price - probably $300~$350)

Thanks for that Heath, I'm kinda flying blind hear so I appreciate your help. I'll budget say $450 and if the guy quotes more than that then I'll go elsewhere.

Thanks again.
