Hey guys, I have found a cheap set of mags with brand new tires on them for cheap, ($120, a guy said the tires are brand new and probably cost about $400 ( I had them checked out))

Anyway they hit the callipers when I try move them so I put enough washers on each bolt so they didn't hit the callipers and now the nuts won't go on... The callipers are really large on the front and they are only small on the back, would it be possible/legal to get smaller callipers? Or mabye one of those spacer plates with bolts on it?

Thanks guys!

This is just sooo wrong - and totally illegal as well. The mags don't fit your car - beginning and end of problem. Either change the mags or change the car - beginning and end of solution.

No, no, no, no, no:shock: !
Don't do it!
1)Washers/Spacers are for fools that don't care if their suspension fails. It is very illegal and dangerous.
2)Why would you want to have smaller brakes?

So the mags fit!

The callipers on the rear are fine, they are much thinner but have the same surface area...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

stupid stupid stupid idea. the only time you should change manufacturers specifications for safty things, eg suspension and brakes, is to make them more effective, eg BIGGER brakes, not smaller.....

dude just go to ur local wreckers and find some elite or elante factory alloys for ur first gen like i did. sounds like ur putting on 14" lancer mags or somthing. the elite alloys are big enough and dont scrap at all and the 15". i paid 100 bucks for mine with 3 good tyres the only catch was they were in brisbane so i had to get them sent up which was another 100 bucks but 200 a 1 new tyre is good for mags.

look in this thread and ull see the mags i mean/ there all factory mags for first gens

Are you guys sure there is a problem with putting thinner callipers on?

the first gen brakes arn't all that hot to begin with so i dont see why u would make em smaller for some cheap mags. and the front are more important anyway cos most of the wieght is up front so u need em. the rear ones are smaller cos they dont need to work as hard , so thats why there smaller and solid not bigger and ventilated like the fronts. wait for a couple more weeks, ull have more cash then and it will have given u time to go to ur local wreckers and look for mags. id hate to hear that ur lying in a hospital bed cos by fitting cheap $100 mags meant the brakes had to be down graded and there fore not performing properly and getting u into and accident. just wait longer ull find a good bargin that works if u want it bad enough.
