G,day. Just dropped the sport in to the local mechanic for a bit of work. Its just done 100,000 km so I got him to change the timing belt, drive belts, front left cv boot. I am going to do all the fluids/filters as well as have a go at lifting the inlet manifold to do the rear plugs to try and save a bit of $$$$$. Anyway, just got the phone call from him that the car is ready. $880. He said that an engine mount is broken and had to be replaced as well (does mitsubishi make these out of plasticine, as it seems to be a common problem!!!). Anyway, does this amount seem about right for the work done. Should I notice any difference with a new engine mount (e.g smoother idle), and will the mount just break again or have they improved this part. Cheers.

Sounds like a good price assuming he has done all the work required in the service book.

Engine vibrations should be reduced with new engine mount, but not necessarily a "smoother" idle.

mine was 650 without engine mount and cv work. So sounds ok.
Mitsi would have charged you about $1400 for all that if it makes you feel any better.
