Hrmm... well i noticed the Anti Lock light on my TE pop on the other day during regular driving, hrmmm. Got concerned, parked the car and did some stuff, came back, and the light was off and stayed off til i got home. Went to work later and on the way the light came back on during regular 60km/h driving. Got to work, when i was leaving it came on straight away when i started the car up.. stress a little, and when i started her up this morning, it was off again.

I was searching through here last night and someone had a similar problem when they installed springs and stuff. I had new rubber put on + an alignment last week but that light didnt come on until yesterday. However i have race spec coilovers and they come with dampners which i have on quite a hard setting, and my front end has been bobbing around stupidly for a couple of days as well.

ANYWAY! *breath*
Just checked my coils and all are clean as a whistle bar the front right which is covered in a dirty grime-like substance. I just want to know what could be the go, and obviously i will take her down the shop, but work is busy and my studies and i want to know what form of serioussness the problem is so i can work out a time to drop it into my mechanic.

After reading some of the older posts (and in fear of thread mining), i thought it could be a sensor that hasnt been connected or something, but after seeing the grime im thinking something else.

Attached pic is of the problem corner (battery ran out after this shot :\ ).

edit* also, ive used ABS only once in the last year or so, but in the week leading up to this, ive had to use it like 5+ times if that makes a difference. . (just trying to give you guys a context to the prob).

edit 2* oops, quite a large pic

Looks like its sprung a leak... Could have messed with the abs sensor as well (contamination).

No, no smashing. It has been incredibly bouncy which is kinda explaning things a little. Got a few more pics near the top. The fact the light is going on/off makes me feel that there is crap on the ABS sensor (but i honestly have nfi where/what that sensor is and looks like).

Haven't looked at the pics yet cause I'm at work (nazi internet use policy  ), but it sounds like another case of the faulty Hotbits coilover :doubt: .

Just wondering if anyone with the sports spec has had this problem? or is it only ppl with street spec?

What a mess. You will see the brake line comming out of the caliper near it you will see another wire coming out and screwed into the strut from what i remember with a small bracket attached to this wire is the ABS sensor. Its probably covered in oil or the stuff thats leaking. These pics are worse than the first one you posted.
If its really bouncy looks like the shock is totally dead. Remove it and send it back for repairs. Hopefully you have some sort of warranty on it.

these are race/sport specs. I belive Jon (the diff) has street, and 3 out of 4 of this were faulty - although i was just told his we're repaired locally, so im hoping this is the case as i dont want to run around without a car.

ok. i was just cleanging the grease off, but the original problem was the AntiLock light.. and i think i have found the culprit.

Plastic guards were removed a while ago because they were basically been worn down my rubber and causeing some grief on wheel lock etc (not too much, but ive talked to many people who have done it). Was a little concerned about dirt and stuff going up there.. But anyway.. there was a bunch of wiring, it wasnt hanging down, but is held up the top of the wheel well by clips and such. Anyway.. obviously the rubber has worn down on some of the wiring, with the resulting ..

I have done a good job at shuffling the wiring around a little and taping them up (might look at getting a piece of sheet metal to wrap in tape and/or silicon later to help prevent them being damaged in the future.

With regards to the coil.. as i said, ive cleaned it up and will see how it goes and drop into the workshop for him to sus it out.. it looks like its irrelevent to the wiring/light issue, and i just happened to come across it. I should check them out reguarly, and suprised the tyre place didnt notice the grease/grime stuff.

bloody cars.

yer, that exposed wiring isnt going to have much fun :)

unless your skilled in soldering/replacing the wiring, have a tradie repair that and mount it properly out of the way.

exposed wiring like that could burn/short out other systems.

no one wants a popped ecu cause of that :)

from the sounds of it, that shockie has bled to death all over the place, explains why its rebounding so much, prolly got no fluids left in it.
