Hi there

I know much has been written about the rough idle problems on 3rd Gen 3.5lts. I have noticed on mine that the idle problem seems to vary depending on the level of fuel in the tank. eg rough idle when tank is full or almost empty, but generally smoother when fuel is between slightly over half to quarter tank. I have noticed this consistently. Replaced fuel filter but no difference. Any ideas?

Also, why is it that I seem to find the car more responsive when the fuel tank is around or below half tank? (can't be weight as we are only talking a difference of 30 or so kilos between half and full tank).

Yeah, I noticed this with my TR when I had it. I just put it down to a weight thing? Either that or that level of fuel is optimum for performance abilities ;-) There was a time when I was only putting in $20 of fuel at a time... :)

Wierd, i actually have found with the 2 magna's i have owned, funnily enough a TR and now a 3.5L TJII that it feels more responsive the fuller the tank is.

i find it really responsive when you have less than half a tank, you go around a corner flatout, and it hits a flat spot cause it gets no fuel and cracks the ****s, hahaha lol
