I have a severe wheel wobble at speed (120+) and a loud metal to metal knocking in the front end when on dirt roads. I have replaced front and rear shocks, tie rod ends, sway bar ball joints and rubbers, control arm rubbers and all four engine mounts. the control arm to wheel ball joints seem ok but I can't get them loose to check. The knocking on the dirt seems to stop if I put light pressure on the brakes. The callipers etc have been checked. Where do I go from here?

I think I have a similar thing to a degree (no real wobble, but some knock on rough roads). Might possibly have something to do with the steering rack, though mine seems to be fairly stable. If it's wobbling, might want to get the steering rack checked out. If it's just knocking a bit, may not be worth the hassle.

Why are you doing speeds of 120+ in the first place? :P.
Have you tried an alignment or balance?

Yep!! I have a slight knock too when on dirt in the TS wagon...ball joints seem ok and I just put in a new set of Gabriel struts up front. I'm wondering if the control arm bushes may be the problem! I will check them this weekend and get back to you!

Wobble will just mean a balance and alignment (hopefully). Balnace $15 Align $35:cool:
