Hey all, just recently secured myself a really cheap ralliart magna and i love it. its got really low k's. but hadthe typical damaged front bar, needed four tyres and rego.

its pewter silver and i have a pic in my profile.

the clear indicators look great and they are designed for the 380. and fit perfect.

i read in a few places that the sound system (great one as well) featured 14 speakers. to this day i have only counted 8. i hope that the 14 isn't counting 2 way or 3 way speakers (if there are any)

when i bought it the sticker that says what the build number was missing, and i can't really make any educated judgement looking at the vin number. any ideas on what it might be?

it had unbelievably low springs in it, and i have now raised it with pedders' lowest sports ryder spring on the front. the koni shocks remain. the car sit pretty level, and the ride quality is pretty rough. little corrugations and joins in road really do jolt the car. that i can sort of live with, but under 'hard' cornering (wide sweepers) the front end would take a sec to compress, then when it seems to settle, it would then 'float' softly and repetitively. my guess is the shocks may be worn due to previous springs.
your thoughts?

also where is a quality place to get my windows tinted in sydney? i need visibility at night.

oh, and i put in narva's artic blues (osram) H7 globes in it and i got an additional ~1.5m viewing distance! i reckon every car with halogens should have these globes, or better!

thanks everyone!

As far as your build number goes, if it's not on the sticker under the bonnet to the left of the radiator (sticks out like dogs balls) then you'll need to ring Mitsubishi Australia or Ralliart Australia and have your VIN ready. I was in the exact same situation you are in when I bought my car and it was quite a hassle chasing down the build number.

Sound system, as above. 3-ways etc are counted as 3 speakers.

Quite possible your struts are worn out. My rear 2 needed to be replaced after 75k. If they are worn, don't buy the Koni Reds from Mitsubishi, they'll rip you off hardcore. Try an aftermarket brand or try getting a better price from our sponsor RPW.

ok, thanks.

my car only has 19,000kms. so i was hoping it wasn't the struts, although it seems like it. are the koni's actually that good? what would you recommend as a daily driven strut?

The Koni's are good. Other people use KYB etc. Check out the RPW website, www.rpw.com.au and download the price guide.

hey mare good buy, 19,000ks i remember when mine had so little  how much you pick it up for. and where in NSW are.

as for the koni's i think they a really good for a standard shock.

and yeah as for build number call mitsy. also the vin shouldhave an R in it somewhere although that doesn't help with build number

what kind of switch would you use to wire up an auto headlights off system in my car.

i like driving with my headlights on cause i think its safer and better visibility for others and i think it looks better.

really?
i checked on mitsubishi's intranet, and i checked all of its records. it was 1st sold in 11/03 had a radiator replaced 3mths after, and a driveshaft. the seller told me it was a re possesed car. and mitsi records indicated that it was a mitsi company car.

no the head unit in it now is a pioneeer avx-7300dvd lcd in dash.

gremlin do you have this person's contacts?

There is a company in QLD called Traxide Tronics who used to make auto headlight
controllers. I had one fitted to my old KS Xi (Ask Skotty if he wants to sell it). They don't
make them anymore. It had the following features.

1. Leave it off and it'll act as a headlight on reminder when switching car off.
2. Leave it on and it'll turn the lights on after 10 seconds to give the batteries time to
charge up after cranking then engine.
3. Leave it on and if the headlight switch was manually turned on, then turning it off will
cause the controller to keep the lights on for 30 seconds to illuminate dark carparks etc.

I'm sure there are other electronic manufactures that can do it. I've also seen circuit
diagrams on how to DIY.

thanks for that.
i can only tlhink of using the door switch as a trigger for the headlights to go off....but i will have to research it further.

thanks

i checked the mitsubishi intranet and im pretty sure the build number of my car is 434!
