want some opinions on a set up for my TJ, i was just thinking new 6.5" in the front new 6x9" out back.... yeah no biggie... any way, sub time... what to do??? 1 x 12" 2 x 12" 15's?? 10's?? i was just thinking 2 nice 12's in a pre fab box, keeping it all reasonably priced... i just want a system that will entertain me, not win awards, im a bit deaf anyway i think so sound quality isnt a huge issue for me anyway, and i wont be using it all that often.... i was thinking about running the 2 12's off a bridged 4ch and the others off the h/u for now till i can afford another amp to run the rest off, h/u is 4 x 45w..

the reason im thinking about 2 12's is ages ago when i was into car audio i had an average set up in an old 5 series bmw u know 6x9's 6" splits and a JL audio 12" in a uni box runnng 2 amps one for the sub one for the rest and it wasnt that impressive...

any better ideas?

gday mate,
well it realy is up to you wat you want,
my ohnest opinion go the 6.5" in the front 6x9" on the back shelf, just 2 12 inch subs in the boot and find a multi channel amp that wil power the subs and the speakers or just a mono amp,i have 6x9's in the front of my car and 6x9's on the bak shelf and 2 12 inch subs running off a mono amp,the sound is realy perfect, dont need an amp for the otha speakers just run em off the head unit, all depends if you want to hear the music or you want otha ppl out side to hear ya music:cool:
powerful amp= more sound
2x 12 subs= fully sick subwoofer mate:cool:
let me know how ya go :D

Instead of spending stacks of money on 2 subs and an amp that is going to be powerful enough to drive them both, spend it on one good 12" and a decent monoblock. Then get a nice little 2 channel or 4 channel for the rest of your speakers. Your up front so just get a 2 channel for your front speakers. Or if you happy with the sound dont bother getting an amp for your f/r speakers.
One decent sub and mono will sound far better than 2 lesser subs and a average amp.

Well it depends on how much you want spend on your audio set up. If you want a good set up but dont want to spend a whole lot of money then you should get a set of typr r 6.5" splits in the front and some eclipse 6.5" coaxils at the back. you dont need 6x9's on the back parcel shelf if you are getting a sub. for the subs i recomend the alpine type r's 12" if you are going for two (they must be both 2ohm subs) with an mrd-m1005 mono block amp to run them, but if you only want one then go for an eclipse 12" sub with an mrp-350 mono block amp. As for the amp to run the mains (speakers) well yeah alpine make pretty good amps so why not get one of them.
