$750 is pretty good.
I dont want to ruin your day, but is $750 bucks really worth a 0.2 second gain over 400m though?

Jack Beehams, not the best for exhausts, but extractors what can go wrong? They want $440 for Pacemakers and $80 for fitting, there in redcliffe to. You could probably get them down in price to, say offer them $500 cash infront of there face, that would do it.
Edit: and oh, 2 tenths of a second would make me faster than you Stacky, I'm going down tomorow night for a 14.6/14.5 hopefully, then I'll fit extractors

I dont want to ruin your day, but did anyone ever tell you you drive a girls car and its pointless trying to make it look good or go fast?
The above was not needed, neither was your comment.
The whole idea of these forums is to seek advice on mods and such. If he didnt want to make his car faster, he wouldnt be asking about prices on extractors. So if you cant help, dont speak. Thin ice is where you skate atm TC. So take the advice.
To the OP: You should beable to source the Pacemaker extractors for around $380. There is a wholesaler in each state that sells them. Unfortunately I cant ring the wholesaler in Melbourne at the moment to find out who that is for you QLD people.
Cost to install them should cost no more than $150.
Whoever is quoting you $750 is quoting you to much.

Nah thats cool I was just putting it in to perspective for you. Some people think they get massive unbelievable gains from small mods thats all. I would do it too :)

What cams are u looking at? I'm thinking of getting some to, stage 1's or maby 2's or I might just go wild, dunno yet. 1's would be good for retaining some fuel economy though.

to the original poster, dont pay more than $450 for the pacies, and dont pay more than $150 for fittment.
I think it would be a good idea to go to a place that has done a magna before, as there is a bit of wiggling and jiggling, and laboru will be less with more mitsi experienced workshops.

I didn't even understand what Bain was getting at
You can put a set of cams in to any motor and it will respond to them better than an exhaust and intake. Cams probably cost less in the end too.

I wouldn't say it was, if someone was rolling on the floor laughing at what you said and told you the GTFO, especially when their reponse doesn't make sense I'm sure you wouldn't be to happy.

got a hole in my 98 KH verada exhaust. me thinks this is possibly the best thing due to the fact that we now have to get a "replacement" exhaust... this means i can get a little sporty number happening. i wanna get something that is pretty cool and gives a nice note but doesn't leave people 2 blocks away saying "what the hell is that piece of crap?" then you drive past and they laugh because it sounds like you are making fart noises down a 3 inch downpipe.
probably just a mild steel replacement number from cat back would be the shot. still has standard muffler but i dont know if these are restrictive or not and if so what would you guys recommend? like i said something quiet around town and a nice note under the hammer would be great. sorry for the long post but i thought i'd state what i was looking for. i am in south brisbane at the moment. keen to go to sunshine coast and gold coast for the right prices and or quality of service.

I just put a cat back system on my TJ sports as well as hi flow cat, and still ran a 15.3 down the 1/4, which was the same as the factory system(Sports) temp a few degrees warmer. But having said that was it worth the $650 I paid...not sure yet does sound better tho. Anyway, if ya can get ya hands on a cat back system...redbacks systems are the way to go from a standard system you'd have on your car. Proex at Coopers plains ar the QLD distributors if you know someone in the trade that can buy one for ya. Fit it yourself and save $$$$$

grabbed a cat back from Gold Coast Mufflers at southport near zupps. dudes were pretty cool. got a cat back with a mercury (?) muffler and twin chrome plated stainless tips for $430. got a great note under the hammer but has a bit of a drone in the car which he reckons should settle after 2 weeks. anyone else heard of that happening?? it has more in the top end now too which is great. really lets loose and i was quite surprised to be honest with the change.
onto zupps.....i bought the car from there last week on thursday. when i rolled out of the yard the 1.stacker in the boot wasn't working 2.i had no automatic aerial 3.the boot latch was buggered. all things they said they would fix. i drove down today to get them done and the car has come back worse than when it left. they ordered the wrong boot latch and no aerial was there when i got there. i had to fix the CD player myself as "it's not covered" and now i cant put fuel in my car because they have disconnected the fuel release switch as well. i have no aerial, and because they screwed with the boot i cant open my boot either because if i do it wont shut. DO NOT USE ZUPPS ON THE GOLD COAST!!!!!! they are so stupid it makes my head hurt. i'm in the middle of transferring the work orders through to Zupps at Mt. Gravatt. apparently they are a lot better than gold coast. sorry about the whinge guys but i figure if i can warn someone about dealing with those idiots then they'll be a lot better off.

Did you guys get mandrel or press bent piping when you had your cat backs installed?
bitsofmystery
03-10-2006, 05:36 PM
mine was a press bent but i looked at the quality of the press bent stuff and it wasn't far off mandrel bend. it's a pretty good quality exhaust. i was told that mandrel was about another $300 so i just went for press.

No one will sell them to you for that thou.
If you get change from $500 you're doing just fine. They take upto 2.5hrs to fit esp if the nuts haven't been off the head since the car was built and if the car is still red hot when you arrive for the fitting. Getting burnt might be par for the course in the muff game but it still p!sses me off.
