Hi Guys,

It's time to sell my GTVi. I think i will put it on the highway for sale soon. I would appreciate some thoughts on a realistic price for it (emphasis on realistic...dont anybody think i will sell it to them dirt cheap :snooty: )

Here are the details:

2003 Pewter KJ II GTVi, 33,000kms, absolutley spotless (i know everyone thinks this about their car but there isnt one carpark ding on it and only a very minor stone chip or two), standard GTVi kit (higher output motor, sports exhaust 17" rims, Nardi Torino leather and timber steering wheel and timber gearleaver etc.) with a KN Panel being it's only mod (if thats what you can call it). Interior (upholstery is perforated black leather) is spotless to the point that when i bought the car i bought a tarpaulin and cut it to shape to line the inside of the boot and have always had two sets of mats over the carpets. A set of rubber mats on top of carpet mats.

The car has not long had its 30,000km service and i have done several oil changes (have always used Penrite and genuine Mitsu oil filters) in between its logbook servicing. And for the record i have only exclusivley ever used 98 and 95 RON fuel(for those of you this is important to). Factory warranty for the car runs out at the end of November.

Your comments, suggestions and discussions are welcomed and encouraged.

I would have put this in the for sale section, but that's just me.

Well it's not for sale....yet.

I am after the opinion of the guys that know something about this model for some suggestions re: the pricing etc. hence i put the thread in the 3rd Gen Forum.

Best way to get a realistic price is to first check out redbook (http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehicle/prices.php?key=MITS03HB), then cry for a while, and then check out carsales.com.au and see what other models like yours are selling for and where they are located.

looking here (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/%21cs_content.dealer_results?make_id=3&model_id=6&keyword=GTVI&state_id=-1&search_distance=25), you would probably be best to put about 26 on it (due to low k's) but expect 23-24...

His is a KJ Series 2... most of those are TL or TW... And dealer cars so slightly more expensive due to warrenty etc.

This is a better indication:

http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.private_results?price_min=&price_max=&search_type=21&make_id=3&selected_make_index=&model_id=6&badge_id=39013&badge_id=27565&keyword=&state_id=-1&search_postcode=&search_distance=25&rego_vehicle_id=&cs_body_id=&drive_id=&km_min=&km_max=&year_min=&year_max=&door_num=&cs_trans_id=&cylinder_num=&engine_low=&engine_high=

Also looked at carpoint...
I would say ask 23k max and expect around 20k-22k max.
I dont think you will get any interest at 26 seeing as you can get a 2005 model for that price or even less. All the best though, sounds like a sweet car.

Cheers
Pete

unfortunately, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.. sadly - it isnt much..

30,000kms: it sounds as if its only just been run in.. nice car, well looked after - id be asking $23k, willing to accept anything over $21k..

if it has things like sat nav and sunroof.. id be asking $23,500-$24,000

i saw a loaded 05 model with 48k roof and all at a mitsu dealer for 23900 :( pretty sad.... although if i had the extra $$$ it would have been mine.., although NSW's prices always seem higher than vics on used cars so good luck...

looks very very schmick! very well looked after car..

but becuse it doesnt have the sunroof or the GPS sat nav, i reckon you'd be pushing very hard to get $21k for her..

so long as you didnt faint/die because of the result, a trade-in appraisal by a car yard would probably be the best way to find its 'real' worth.. (we all know you could fetch another 2 or so grand on top of what they'd offer you..) would virtually give you a lowest/bottom price to expect..

best of luck with selling it though.. its an exceptional example:thumbsup:
